Let us acquaint ourselves with some of the National Parks of Telangana.

  1. Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park:

This park is located in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. This park contains about 140 species of plants amd many animal specie. However, The best time to visit this park is during weekends. This is a proper tourist place and a nice getaway from the noise of the city.

  1. Mahaveer Harina Vanasthali National Park:

Its location is in Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad. It covers an area of over 3,758 acres. This is lush green space and contains more than 150 species of fauna. This park is ideal for vacation visits by tourists.

  1. Mrugavani National Park:

Its location is at Chilkur and near Moinabad Mandal. It is covers an area of 3.6 square kilometre. There are More than 600 species of plants are present here. The wide range of plant species found here make this park a favourite among tourists.

  1. Kinnersani Wildlife Sanctuary:

Its location is in Bhadradri Kothagudem district in Telangana. It is spread over an area of 635.4 square kilometre. The main attraction of this sanctuary is its lake and the dense forests, which attract a lot of tourists.

  1. Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary:

Its location is in Eturnagaram village of Bhupalapally district in Telangana. The nearest city to this sanctuary is Warangal. It covers an area of over 812 square kilometre. The best time to visit this sanctuary is between October to May. This sanctuary is probably the best sanctuary in Telangana.

  1. Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary:

It is located in Mancherial district of Telangana. This is oldest sanctuary in North Telangana. This sanctuary is spread over an area of 893 square kilometre. This sanctuary is known for its diverse ecosystem.

  1. Manjeera Crocodile Wildlife Sanctuary:

Its location is in Medak district in Telangana. This sanctuary is spread over an area of 20 square kilometre. This was originally a crocodile park but now it is home to more than 70 species of birds and 400 to 600 species of crocodiles. The average temperature of this place is 15 degree Celsius to 42 degree Celsius.

  1. Nagarjuna Sagar-Srisailam Wildlife Sanctuary:

It is the largest tiger reseve in India and spreads over five districts. It spreads over an area of 3568 square kilometre. This place also contains the famous Srisailam, a pilgrimage spot, in it. The sanctuary receives thousands of tourists and pilgrims every year. The sanctuary is itself a lush green environment and provides habitat for many of the animals.

  1. Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary:

It is located in Warangal district of Telangana. This sanctuary was established in the year 1952 by Kakatiya Dynasty. The attraction here is the Pakhal Lake, which enhances the beauty of the existing flora and fauna in the nature.

  1. Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary:

This is located in the Medak district of Telangana. Moreover, It covers an area of over 130 square kilometre. It is situated near the Pocharam Lake and draws many tourists from all over the world.

  1. Pranahita Wildlife Sanctuary:

It s location is in Mancherial district of Telangana. It covers an area of over 136. 2 square kilometre. Additionaly, This sanctuary contains over 100 species of animals and beautiful vegataion.
